What Is The Survey?
Marcus Walker wakes in a vacant-looking house and finds a locked phone beside an anonymous warning. Unlocking it and continuing the survey brings fragments of the past back into the rooms around him.
How to Play The Survey
The Survey combines slow first-person exploration with environmental puzzles. Channel numbers, audio tapes, journal entries, and changes in the house provide the information needed to keep moving.
The Survey Controls
- WASD: move
- Mouse: look
- E or left click: interact
- Shift: move faster when available
Objectives
- Inspect the house before assuming a room has nothing useful.
- Find the numbers needed to unlock the phone.
- Read journals and listen to tapes for puzzle context.
- Follow the survey while piecing together Marcus's past.
Story, Style, and Horror Design
Silence and domestic familiarity do most of the early work. Static, messages, and events upstairs gradually replace that calm with the sense that Marcus is being watched and judged.
The Survey Tips
- Write down number sequences as soon as you find them.
- Revisit rooms after major events; the environment does not stay static.
- Use headphones at a comfortable volume because audio cues carry information.
